LED Indication – Discrete
LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are used for various kinds of indication applications. Discrete LEDs can be used either by themselves or they can be used in combination with a number of other components to provide various levels of feedback. Depending on the application, Discrete LEDs can provide both visual feedback and a level of resistance, current and voltage protection to the system. LEDs are used in many applications such as automotive, medical, industrial and consumer electronics.
The QTLP2827 is a discrete LED module, which provides multiple levels of indication as well as a variety of ways to display information. The QTLP2827 consists of two differently coloured LEDs (Red and Amber), giving the user the possibility to differentiate between two different levels of indication. Working Principle
The QTLP2827 works on the same principle as other discrete LEDs. It has two LEDs: a red and an amber one. The red LED is used to indicate a “positive” value while the amber LED is used to indicate a “negative” value. The two LEDs are independently driven by a logic input, so that both of them can be either on or off depending on the logic level of the input signal.
The LEDs can either be driven directly from the input signal, or by using one of the QTLP2827’s VCXO (Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator) stages. This allows for more accurate control over the occurring output due to the fact that the VCXO can be configured in order to prevent false alarms or unnecessary notifications.
The QTLP2827 is designed for maximum reliability and ease of use, so it can be used in a variety of applications. It has a wide range of operating voltages, from 2.4 to 5 VDC, making it suitable for a variety of setups.
