The QTM2000 Evaluation Board is specifically designed to enable enabling users to evaluate and test inertial sensing solutions. In particular, the system is designed to perform testing in an environment with high vibration and shock, making it ideal for aerospace, automotive, marine, and other challenging applications. This system enables measurement of up to 6 axes of acceleration, rotation, and angular rate sensing. Moreover, with its built-in 16-bit ADC and its IP65 rated dust and water resistant enclosure, the QTM2000 makes for an attractive long-term solutions for industrial sensing applications.
The working principle of the QTM2000 can be broken down into three steps. First, the system uses a high-accuracy inertial sensor to measure the acceleration, rotation, and/or angular rates experienced by the system. This data is then processed and transmitted to an external device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or embedded processor. Finally, the processed data can be used to provide valuable feedback and insight into various systems and applications.
At the core of the system is an accelerometer, a device that measures linear acceleration and usually consists of a number of tiny metal plates and an electric field. The accelerometer is connected to an IC chip that takes the analog data from the plates and converts it into a digitally understandable form. The digital signal is then processed by the evaluation board and the resulting data is sent to the external device for further analysis.
The QTM2000 evaluation board also includes an embedded microprocessor for use in controlling the sensing process. This allows users to configure the board to optimize the data acquisition for a variety of different applications. Further, the board also features a 16-bit digital to analog converter, which provides a higher resolution output than standard ADC technology. This makes the system ideal for high-accuracy applications.
The QTM2000 also features an onboard pressure and temperature sensor. This ensures that accurate readings of environmental conditions can be taken, and the onboard temperature sensor ensures that temperature stability is maintained during the testing process. These features help to ensure accurate results in difficult testing conditions.
In addition to the above, the QTM2000 Evaluation Board also includes 3 additional Axis IO, which provide additional flexibility when connecting external devices. This means that a range of peripheral devices such as GPS modules, optical encoders, pressure transducers, or other Sensor Interfaces can be easily connected to the Evaluation Board.
In summary, QTM2000 Evaluation Board is specifically designed to enable enabling users to evaluate and test inertial sensing solutions. The system enables measurement of up to 6 axes of acceleration, rotation, and angular rate sensing. Furthermore, it includes a 16-bit ADC and its IP65 rated dust and water resistant enclosure, which makes it an attractive long-term solutions for industrial sensing applications. The board also features an onboard processor and pressure and temperature sensors, as well as additional axis IO, providing users with great flexibility and accuracy when connecting to a range of external devices.
