The high-performance ARM Cortex-M23 core and the built-in low-power clock startup circuit (LPCS) enable reliable and efficient operation at low power consumption.

The R7S721001VLBG#AC0 series is suitable for various industrial fields and applications, such as: semiconductor equipment control, medical equipment, telecommunications, automotive electronics, computer peripherals and audio equipment. The instruction fetch unit fetches instruction from the flash memory and decodes it. The instruction decode unit decodes the instruction into a series of commands or micro-instructions. Lastly, the execution unit carries out the various micro-instructions and stores the results in memory as necessary.

The processor also includes several specialized functional units.
