Fixed inductors are passive electronic components that store energy in the form of a magnetic field -- generated by passing an electrical current through a coil of wire. They are used in a variety of applications from DC power conversion to telecom filters. The RCR1010NP-560M is a high quality axial fixed inductor, suitable for various high-frequency applications where high current, low DCR, good stability and accurate inductance values are required.

The RCR1010NP-560M is a 10mm x 10mm ceramic core axial lead inductor with an inductance value range of 560uH. It has a low DCR of 0.02ohms and is rated up to 4.25A. The temperature coefficient is -5ppm/degC and the operating temperature range is -40 degC to 125 degC. It is RoHS compliant and ideal for high performance filter inductors and voltage regulation applications.

The RCR1010NP-560M is typically used in RF power amplifiers, communication devices, antenna units, DC/DC converters and other high current/high frequency applications. It is also used in switching power supplies, switching regulators and telecom switching systems.

The working principle of a fixed inductor is relatively straightforward. When a current passes through the inductor, it creates a magnetic field. The magnetic field stores energy and, when the current passes through the windings, the inductor\'s wire coils act like a spring, resisting any changes to the current. This resistance to current changes is what creates the inductance value.

The inductance is determined by the number of windings and the core material. The more windings, the higher the inductance; and the higher the permeability of the core material, the higher the inductance. The shape of the inductor also affects its inductance, with magnetic field lines crowding towards the tips of a long, narrow inductor core, resulting in a higher inductance value.

In addition, the presence of additional components such as a ferrite core can increase or decrease overall inductance. Ferrite cores are made from ceramic compounds that contain iron oxide, and are used to promote the circulation of energy throughout the inductor. When used in combination with the winding of the inductor, the ferrite core can increase the inductance value by as much as 10 to 20 times.
