The principle of working of the RCR1616NP-150M is based on the principle of a transformer. When the current through the inductor’s primary winding is increased, the magnetic field around it increases, induce an electromotive force (EMF) in the secondary winding of the inductor, opposing the change in current. As a result, the inductance value increases, stabilizing the current flow. Depending on the type of desired output power supply, appropriate ferrite material is chosen. In a continuous mode, one would need to use low loss ferrite material, while for pulsed mode, high permeability materials are used.
