Aluminum - polymer capacitors are widely used in electronics applications and are also known as Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors, Aluminum Polymer Capacitors and Aluminum Polymer Electrolytic Capacitors. They consist of a layer of aluminum oxide and a spacer, either polymer, stainless steel, carbon or ceramic, and are filled with a liquid electrolyte.
