ROV07-621K-S-2 is a type of metal oxide varistor (MOV). Its function is to protect electronic circuits, specifically from voltage transients that are caused from electrical induction, lightning and electrostatic discharge. It is constructed from metal oxide material elements that are sandwiched between two electrodes in a volume body. When exposed to a higher voltage than its rated peak pulse power level (arc gap voltage), the elements break down, effectively acting like a large resistor with a very low electrical resistance and clamping the power level. ROV07-621K-S-2 are applicable in various fields, most notably home appliances, office equipment, computer and communication equipment, measuring and controlling systems, automotive circuity, electronic toys, consumer electronics and more.
