The ROV14-820K-S-2 is a two-terminal protective device used to absorb over-voltage transients generated by electro-magnetic radiation or high-energy switching operations. It is a varistor, also known as a voltage-dependent resistor (VDR), that typically functions as a nonlinear, two-terminal device, used to suppress transient over-voltage scenarios. This type of varistor is a flameproof MOV (Metal-Oxide Varistor) and is designed to survive ambient temperatures up to 180°C for at least 2,000 hours.

The ROV14-820K-S-2 is just one of thousands of types of MOVs that are available on the market.
