The high pass filtering removes the low frequency components, leaving behind a pure AC output.

The output from the single-phase rectifier can be used for a variety of applications including the charging of batteries, the power supply of DC equipment and for the rectification of AC signals such as audio signals. The output can also be used as an input to various types of AC-controlled systems such as motor drives, variable speed drives and inverters.
