The pulsed signals sent to the switches has two parts, one is to carry current to the load, the other is to reset the current flowing in the transformer. The PWM signal varies the duty cycle to change the input voltage to the desired output. The synchronous rectification circuit is responsible for the conversion of the pulsed AC signal to DC signal. The voltage at the rectifier diodes are monitored and adjusted whenever necessary. The two switches on the circuit are used to increase or decrease the duty cycle of the PWM. When the PWM duty cycle increases, the current at the output increases, and vice versa.In order to maintain the output voltage and current, the RPMD40-483.3SGW/N is equipped with an internally regulated control loop. The internal loop is constantly monitoring the voltage and current and making adjustments when necessary.Overcurrent and over-temperature protection is handled by the internal control loop. If the thermal solution is not adequate, the converter can be programmed to reduce the output voltage.
