Power Line Filter Modules

RSAN-2030 is an integrated power line filter module (PLC) that provides an integrated solution for filtering and regulating power line inputs and outputs. It is designed to improve electrical system efficiency and harmonics, reduce noise generated by the power sources and protect electrical devices from transient electromagnetic disturbances, including those generated by lightning. The advanced technology incorporated into the RSAN-2030 not only provides superior protection, but also improved efficiency and reduced harmonic content across the full range of load conditions.

Applications

The RSAN-2030 is designed for use in a wide variety of applications including switchgear, distribution centers, industrial control panels, motor drives, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other electronic devices. The module can be used for both single-phase and three-phase power supplies, allowing for increased flexibility in the application.

In industrial environments, the RSAN-2030 can improve power system efficiency and combine the functions of EMI filters, surge protection and line conditioners, reducing system cost, size and complexity. In motor drives, the RSAN-2030 can increase both motor start and motor protection by minimizing harmonic content on the input power, resulting in lower current ratings and longer motor life.

In programmable logic controllers (PLCs), the RSAN-2030 can improve system reliability by providing a continuous current supply to the PLC during fault conditions and reducing harmonics.

Working Principle

The RSAN-2030 is designed to filter and regulate power line inputs and outputs. It uses a network of capacitors, inductors, and resistors connected in parallel to provide a low impedance path for the undesirable frequency components present in the switchgear, distribution centers, industrial control panels, motor drives, and PLCs.

The module also contains an integrated current transformer (CT) and voltage-triggered switch (VTS) to register power faults such as phase loss, over-voltage, and under-voltage. The CT and VTS are connected in series with the filter components and can detect power faults and open the module when a predetermined threshold is exceeded.

The RSAN-2030 also utilizes an integrated current limiting circuit to reduce the peak current and minimize the stress on the filter components during transient events. This allows the module to effectively manage spikes or transient loads and eliminates the need for a surge protective device (SPD).

The RSAN-2030 is designed to optimize the supply voltage, reduce harmonics, and protect the system from damaging transients. These features, combined with the integrated current-limiting circuit, make the RSAN-2030 an ideal choice for a wide variety of applications.
