It can measure angles from 0° to 90°, and its resolution is approximately 0.02°. The Eagle4 also provides fast, accurate linear position measurements up to 200 mm with a resolution of 0.05 mm.

The Eagle4 is equipped with a powerful built-in microprocessor that can operate in various modes. In the Fast position mode, the microprocessor continuously monitors the linear position over the entire range and can update the position readings up to 1000 times per second. In the Slow position mode, the microprocessor updates the position readings at a rate of 10 times per second. In both modes, the microprocessor filters out external jitter, giving the system an improved level of accuracy.

The device also features a built-in diagnostic circuit which can detect system malfunctions and will generate an error signal if a fault is detected. This signal can then be used to perform system diagnostics and resolve any faults quickly.
