The S-1000N44-I4T1U is a member of the PMIC Supervisors product family. It is designed to provide a a highly-integrated, robust power-supply monitoring and control solution for a wide range of applications.The S-1000N44-I4T1U combines advanced features and functions that are designed to increase reliability, reduce system cost and simplify circuit design. It offers robust voltage monitoring functions as well as active-low auto-disable and active-high fault protection features. This enables the system designer to better control the power supply, ensuring reliable operation at all times.The S-1000N44-I4T1U includes four voltage monitors, each with its own configuration register and dedicated digital output. The monitors can be set to detect input voltages from 1.2V to 6V, in 0.14V increments. When the input voltage falls below the threshold level, the active-low output will be asserted. All outputs are open drain to allow several devices to be connected directly to the same outputIn addition to its voltage monitoring functions, the S-1000N44-I4T1U includes an active-high power-OK output. This is a digital output that is asserted when the input voltage is within its programmed threshold range. This output can be used to enable or disable power supplies, reset peripherals and notify the user when the power input voltage is satisfactory.Included in the S-1000N44-I4T1U is an advanced shutdown feature. This is designed to be used to quickly shut down the system in case of an over-current or over-temperature fault. The shutdown feature is configurable to either shut down the system immediately, or, if the conditions are cleared, to reset the system and allow it to continue to operate normally.The S-1000N44-I4T1U is designed to be flexible and easy to implement. It is equipped with a 4V to 5.6V input range and provides an easy to use I2C interface for communication and system control. An optional watchdog timer can be used to ensure that the system does not hang or lock up due to a software issue.The S-1000N44-I4T1U has numerous real world applications. It is suitable for use in PC power supplies and can also be used in embedded applications in automotive and industrial environments.
