Power management IC (PMIC) is a device that provides a variety of regulated power sources. A power management IC (PMIC) is used to control and optimize the use of electric power and other features in electronic systems. Supervisors, also known as voltage monitors, protect microprocessors from outages, surges, and other anomalies that can cause stability issues and permanent damage.The S-1003CB13I-I6T1U is a high-performance voltage supervisor device integrated with watchdog timer (WDT). The device triggers a system reset or external interrupt request when a power supply or input voltage falls below current-measurement thresholds. The supervisor works by comparing input voltage with reference voltage, on power-on reset (POR) the device is low and does not stay in the reset state. In normal operation, the thermostat makes the reset signal active for a few milliseconds when the output voltage (VDR) falls below Vth, which can also be kept at a continuous low level.The S-1003CB13I-I6T1U provides excellent, low-cost protection against microprocessor corruption or loss of data, reset hangs, or unexpected system behaviors. A wide range of reset triggers, including low voltage, brownout, and under-voltage, can be selected using the pin configuration. It also provides an extended operation temperature range and integrated margin test circuitry for testing. The reset output and the watchdog output (WDO) are open-drain and require an external pull-up resistor. With a supply current as low as 0.4μA in sleep mode and 1μA in normal operation, the device is ideal for battery-powered applications.Typical applications for the S-1003CB13I-I6T1U include embedded systems, office equipment, industrial automation, home appliances, and consumer electronics. The operating voltage range covers up to 4.6V with an output accuracy of ±2% over temperature. The device has a maximum watchdog timer delay of 1.575 second (3.15 second over an adjustable time window) and a maximum reset delay of 500 ms. The supervisor is designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions and be immune to EMI and RF noise.
