S-1132B23-U5T1U is a PMIC - Voltage Regulators - Linear designed by Linear Technology Corporation. It integrates 3 independent regulators (LDOs) into one package, providing maximum output current of 2A, competitive output voltage range of 1.6V to 5V (continuously adjustable) over temperature range and fast transient response. It also offers protection features such as Reverse Battery, Over Voltage, Under Voltage and Output Overload.
The application field of S-1132B23-U5T1U is widely used in industrial and consumer electronics. As used in the industrial electronics, it is mainly for data acquisition systems, distributed power systems, and power management for embedded processors and DSPs where multiple low power supplies are needed. For consumer electronics, it can widely be applied to mobile devices, digital TV, power management systems and automotive infotainment systems.
S-1132B23-U5T1U linear voltage regulator operates through a regulating process which keeps the output voltage practical constant against the any change of input voltage and load current, providing a stable and high accuracy output voltage. The regulator constantly monitors the output voltage and adjusts the power supply accordingly. This process is called as “feedback”, where feedback control circuitry monitors the output voltage and compares it with a reference voltage. The principle of operation concludes the following four steps:
Step 1: The power supply receives input power, most typically ac or dc. The input power is then regulated to a desired level by the input circuitry.
Step 2: The designed output voltage is then set by an internal voltage reference, which provides a regulated voltage. The regulated voltage acts as a reference to which the power supply attempts to keep the output voltage.
Step 3: The voltage error amplifier compares the output voltage from the power supply with the reference voltage.
Step 4: On the basis of the comparison, the error amplifier sends a control signal to the power transistors, which then regulates the output voltage.
S-1132B23-U5T1U linear voltage regulators are extremely versatile and provide high reliable performance. It is cost effective, highly configurable, offers a wide variety of protection features, and provides local and remote sensing capabilities. It is a robust solution for applications that require multiple voltage rail power controls.
