The S-1137B18-M5T1U linear voltage regulator features a p-n-p open collector output stage, which enables the high-side output voltage to be adjusted. The voltage regulator’s output voltage is set by an external resistor divider at the ADJ pin. This resistor divider network sets the feedback voltage of the voltage regulator, which is then compared to an internal reference voltage. If the voltage signal at the ADJ pins is higher than the reference voltage, the output signal is decreased until the feedback signal at the ADJ pins is equal to the reference voltage. The S-1137B18-M5T1U also features current limit and protection circuitry for overload, over temperature, input under voltage and output over voltage protection. The current limit circuit is active only when the load current exceeds the set threshold and is programmable from 2A~7A. The over temperature protection feature typically begins active at 150°C and will shut down the output at 170°C.
