The S-1142D62I-E6T1U is a three-terminal adjustable linear voltage regulator of the PMIC - Voltage Regulators - Linear family. It provides an output voltage range of 1.2 V to 62 V with an output current capability of up to 1 A. The device is well suited for both fixed and adjustable low voltage outputs applications, from 1.2 V to 62 V. It also features current limit and thermal shutdown with hysteresis. This provides protection for the user in the case of over-current, over-voltage and thermal overload conditions.

Working Principle
The S-1142D62I-E6T1U voltage regulator utilizes an error amplifier, PNP and NPN transistors, and local on-chip sense resistors to regulate output voltage by controlling the voltage on the ADJ pin against a reference voltage. The device takes a regulated input voltage based on the internal reference, compares it with the voltage on the ADJ pin, and adjusts the output voltage accordingly. When the output voltage deviates from the required voltage, the error amplifier adjusts the base current of the PNP or NPN transistors, increasing the current flow either into or out of the output.
The S-1142D62I-E6T1U also features current limit, thermal shutdown with hysteresis, and reverse current protection. When the current limit is exceeded, the device shuts off until the overload condition is removed and the device temperature drops below the thermal shutdown threshold. In the event of a reverse voltage, the reverse protection feature will protect the device from damage.
