Working Principle:
The S-1167B25-M5T1G utilizes a three-pin design. 2 install in the power MOSFETs are located at the input side of the regulator. The first pin acts as a ground, while the second pin controls the applied voltage across the output of the regulator. The third pin is used for the voltage reference of the regulator. This voltage reference is a very critical component of the regulator. It acts as a base point for controlling the desired output voltage and sets a regulated output voltage across the load regardless of variations in the input voltage.When the power switch is open, the applied voltage is transferred to the output of the regulator. This voltage is set at the desired output voltage by comparing it with the voltage reference. When the applied voltage Reference is greater than the voltage reference, the power switch will be opened and the excess voltage will be dumped back to the power supply. If the applied voltage is lower than the voltage reference, the power switch will be closed allowing the regulator to supply the load with the desired output voltage.
