The S-1206B46-M3T1U is a part of the PMIC (power management integrated circuit) voltage regulator Linear family. It is a highly efficient, low noise, low voltage regulator and has found numerous applications in various portable electronic products. This device has been carefully designed to provide excellent low noise performance, low noise operation over a broad temperature range, and superior power dissipation characteristics.

S-1206B46-M3T1U uses a 4-pin configuration Includes Input, Output, and Disable pins and can provide up to 1.8A of output current. Its features include Automatic Power Saving feature which provides low power consumption in idle mode and an Enable Pin. Its output voltage can be programmed by varying the operating temperature range and the current limit is temperature compensated. Its noise performance is specified over a temperature range of -40°C ~ +100°C.

The device is based on Linear regulation technology and the working principle is quite simple. It contains an integrated circuit which compares the input voltage and senses any difference between the output and input voltages.
