The S-1313A15-M5T1U3 is an integrated low dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator. It is designed to deliver a precise output voltage for a wide range of input voltages and offers excellent line regulation, load regulation and output noise performance.

The device is a single-output, low-dropout, linearregulator designed to supply up to 500mA of output current. It operates froman input voltage range of 2.7V to 6V and the output is adjustable from 0.8Vto 4.0V. It provides excellent line and load regulation, with a dropout voltage of typically 200mV at full load and dropout voltage of typically 350mV at light load.

The S-1313A15-M5T1U3 also features low noise performance, effciency and high accuracy tolerance over a broad temperature range. The device also provides current limiting, thermal overload protection and an open-drain output. The POK (Power OK) output indicates when the regulated output has reached a voltage level that is within ±2% of the setpoint voltage.

Working Principle

The working principle of S-1313A15-M5T1U3 is an integrated low dropout(LDO) linear voltage regulator. The device is a single-output, low-dropout, linear regulator designed to supply up to 500mA of output current. The basic circuit of an LDO regulator consists of a PNP or PMOS transistor and a resistor. Input voltage from the power supply is used to drive the transistor in the active region and the voltage across the resistor is monitored by an error amplifier. The output of the error amplifier is compared to a reference voltage and the error signal is used to control the output of the LDO regulator.

The LDO voltage regulator operates on a two-stage mechanism. In the first stage, the voltage is compared to a reference voltage which gives out an error signal based on the difference between the two voltages. The error signal is then used to modify the output voltage of the LDO voltage regulator to the desired value. In the second stage, the error amplifier monitors the output voltage and adjusts the gate resistance of the transistor, thus increasing or decreasing the current flowing through the PNP or PMOS transistor to achieve the desired voltage level.

In order to prevent sudden output voltage drops, the S-1313A15-M5T1U3 voltage regulator has current limiting, thermal overload protection, and an open-drain output with a power OK signal. This ensures a steady and reliable operation of the LDO regulator, even at very low input voltages.
