This makes the S-13AE15-U5T1U3 an ideal choice for cost-sensitive projects that require minimal component count and board space.The S-13AE15-U5T1U3 is a three-terminal, regression voltage regulator that operates from an input voltage of 3 V to 15 V and provides an adjustable output voltage with a range of 0.8 V to 4.2 V. Its low-dropout voltage is no more than 350mV, making it suitable for portable applications.The S-13AE15-U5T1U3 is designed with current limiting and thermal shut-down features to protect the device, as well as external components, from possible damages. When the input voltage is rising above the output voltage, the current limiting protection will change the output voltage to prevent excessive current in the device. And, when the junction temperature of the S-13AE15-U5T1U3 reaches approximately 150°C, the thermal shut-down protection will lower the output voltage to 0V.The S-13AE15-U5T1U3 can be easily integrated into the system by simply connecting an external resistor between the output pin, OUT, and the adjust pin, ADJ. The OUT voltage = (1+ R2/R1)*VREF, where VREF is the reference voltage of 0.8 V. The resistor ratio will then determine the output voltage of the S-13AE15-U5T1U3.In applications such as producing auxiliary supplies in laptop computers and powering audio/video equipment, the adjustable S-13AE15-U5T1U3 linear voltage regulator provides a precise and low cost solution for voltage regulation. In addition, due to its low-dropout voltage (max. 350 mV), the S-13AE15-U5T1U3 prolongs battery life in portable applications. The S-13AE15-U5T1U3 also includes current limiting and thermal shut down protection to ensure safe operation.
