Working Principle
The S-13R1A17-N4T1U3 works on the principle of linear regulation, which Transistor-Transistor Logic (TTL) is best known for. Linear regulation requires no switching and the output voltage is a function of the output current and the load requirements. When the electrical load is varied, the output voltage automatically compensates by either increasing or decreasing the amount of current drawn from the regulated power source, as needed. In the case of S-13R1A17-N4T1U3 linear regulator, it draws the current from its input voltage source, and the output voltage is calculated as the input voltage minus the amount of current drawn by the load.
Features
The S-13R1A17-N4T1U3 Linear Voltage Regulator includes integrated silicon power Mosfet and Low Qg, and Low Rds(on) MOSFET to improve the electrical performance for motor control and industrial applications. It has a wide input voltage range from 8V to 32V and output voltage up to 7.2V. It has an adjustable Overvoltage Protection (OVP) which can be set from 7.6V to 8.5V, and Undervoltage Protection (UVP) which can be set from 7.2V to 5.5V. It has an integrated over-current protection (OCP) and short circuit protection (SCP). It also features internal Thermal shutdown protection (TSD) which automatically shuts down the device when the temperature exceeds the allowed threshold. In addition, the S-13R1A17-N4T1U3 has reverse battery protection, over-temperature protection and current limit protection to ensure the safety of users and the equipment.
