Working Principle
The S-80130BLPF-JEPTFG uses an advanced adaptation of the standard low-power CMOS detection technique to accurately monitor and control the power-on reset of its outputs. It contains an independent voltage reference, current sources and multiple control circuitry, capable of detecting and responding to both rising and falling edges of the monitored input. The power-on reset of the outputs occurs if either one of the selected threshold boundaries (above or below) is reached. An active-high reset is issued when the output is asserted or reset depending on the reset polarity settings.
When power is first applied, an active-low, push/pull or open-drain output is issued to indicate the power-on reset. The S-80130BLPF-JEPTFG resets its outputs when either of the two monitored power rails reaches the threshold set by the two independent voltage monitors at the selected threshold level. An active-high, push/pull or open-drain reset is issued to indicate the reset occurred. Additionally, the S-80130BLPF-JEPTFG features a unique feature called Input Timeout that allows it to reset and trip an alarm if either input monitor remains active for a period of time greater than the selected timeout period. This feature eliminates chances of excessive voltage or current spikes on either power rail resulting in potential damage to system components or irrecoverable data losses.
