PMIC, or power management integrated circuit, is a type of integrated circuit designed to regulate and control power. Supervisors, as one of the important building blocks of power management, are used to provide robust power-on reset and system reset functions for a variety of electronic products. The S-80956CNPF-G9STFG is a Type 1 compliant power-on supervisors with its UL recognized insulation system, combined with the intelligent auto reset circuit and overtemperature protection, provides stable and reliable power-on reset and system reset function onto any serious of system applications. The S-80956CNPF-G9STFG is designed to be used in consumer electronics, communication systems, industrial system and automation, medical, military and aerospace applications.

The S-80956CNPF-G9STFG is an active low 3-pin device featuring a voltage monitor circuit, reset generator and clock generator in a very small package. The reset generator includes an active low reset output as well as an active high manual reset input. The device monitors the system supply voltage, VCC, and when the voltage drops below the preset threshold, VTH, a reset output signal will be generated to reset the system. When the voltage VCC rises above the VTH, reset signal returns inactive and system is running again. There is also an additional pin, VDD, which is connected to a low voltage supply and controls the reset response times.

The S-80956CNPF-G9STFG provides an open drain reset signal, which allows several units in series to be tied together for a longer reset signal.
