S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G is a low dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator primarily designed for applications requiring rather high accuracy, low power consumption and low noise. The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G is an advanced version of S-812 family regulators which feature low power consumption, and high reliability, long line and load transient response, adjustable output voltage, and excellent performance in high current applications.The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G is based on the three terminal regulator topology known as a Low Dropout (LDO) regulator. The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G series is designed to provide a regulated output voltage over a full range of input voltages. It takes an input voltage (Vin) usually between 3.8 V to 22 V and then outputs a regulated output voltage (Vout) typically between 1.2 V to 5.0 V depending on the particular model. The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G is protected against a reverse input voltage applied. The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G also incorporates over temperature, reversed polarity protection, over-current protection as well as protection from output open circuit.The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G series is suitable for use in cellular phones, battery-powered systems, notebook computers, set-top boxes, portable instrumentation and other system requiring low voltage, high current and low cost. The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G has a maximum quiescent current of 200uA with an input voltage range of 4.5V to 18V and can supply up to 2A of current with a dropout voltage of 140mV at a 2A load. The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G also offers line and load transient response typically better than 20mV in 10ms and ripple rejection of 70dB. The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G includes an enable pin, which may be used to enable or disable the regulator for power savings.The S-812C46AUA-C3AT2G offers many features that are beneficial in many applications. Its low quiescent current and low dropout voltage allow for power savings in battery powered applications.
