For easing design PFM (pulse frequency modulation) mode is also provided to avoid unwanted switching at light load and thereby improve light load efficiency.The working principle behind the S-8340A33AFT-T2-U controller is that it is configured to operate as a voltage-mode (VTV) or current-mode (VCM) PWM controller with a selectable operating frequency. It has voltage-mode (VTV) operation at a fixed oscillator frequency between 50kHz to 500kHz, and current-mode (VCM) operation at a fixed oscillator frequency between 50kHz to 200kHz.The controller works by receiving a reference voltage (VREF), an input voltage, and a temperature signal from the thermal diode built into the die of the package. The output voltage of the S-8340A33AFT-T2-U is set at the VREF. A pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal is generated based on the voltage difference between VREF and the input voltage. The PWM signal controls the state of the N-channel MOSFETs controlling the buck, boost, or flyback switched-mode power supply.The S-8340A33AFT-T2-U is a highly integrated, high-performance DC-DC switching controller, suitable for a wide range of applications.
