S-8341D00AFT-T2-G is a switching controller for DC/DC voltage regulator, which includes a voltage-mode PWM controller, an over both operating temperature and current protection circuit, logic in-out pins and standard CMOS process technology. It is designed with low on-resistance power MOSFETs, making it suitable to drive up to 2A continuous output current over a -40° to +85°C temperature range. In addition, it provides 3V to 5.5V operation, 2MHz switching frequency, 85mV VCC-Under Voltage Lock Out, logic-controlled shutdown and a current limit comparator with an accuracy of 0.5%.

Application Field

S-8341D00AFT-T2-G is widely applied to power systems related to digital consumer electronics, such as smart phones, digital cameras, tablet computers and other mobile digital devices. The output voltages required by different digital consumer electronics are low, so the power system design based on S-8341D00AFT-T2-G can keep the voltage drive power at the minimum level, which can save both energy and cost. Working Principle

The working process of S-8341D00AFT-T2-G integrates two main parts: voltage-mode PWM controller and over both operating temperature and current protection circuit. It utilizes a voltage amplifier to obtain a sawtooth signal at the MOSFET gate with the characteristics of gate threshold voltage and gate charging/discharging slew rate. When the output voltage rises, the duty cycle is reduced to allow the output voltage to remain stable. On the other hand, the over both operating temperature and current protection circuit is a current-limit control circuit with independent thermal control and a current limiter with an accuracy of 0.5%. The current limit control circuit monitors the on-chip temperature and can adjust the current limit threshold value to ensure a safe working environment and protect the output devices from over current loop.
