S1812-101H Application Field and Working Principle

S1812-101H is a type of fixed inductor. This type of inductor is made of sputtering film. This is a ceramic chip. It is classified into a number of types depending on its size and pins. It is mainly composed of a ceramic body with a magnetic core embedded in it. It also has a coil of copper wire wrapped around the core, composed of a cyanoacrylate adhesive.

Application

S1812-101H is widely used in Radio Frequency circuits, power converters, high frequency circuit filters, and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) in chassis wiring applications. This inductor can also be used for impedance transformation, matching and filtering. Its small size and light weight make it particularly suitable for Handheld devices. It is also suitable for high temperature environments, with a rated temperature of up to 125°C.

Working Principle

This inductor is based on the principle of induction. In an inductor, a coil is wound around a core. A steady current is passed through the coil which creates an electromagnetic field in the core. When the current changes, the field in the core will also change. This change in the field induces a voltage in the coil which opposes the change in current. This opposition of current is known as inductance. This inductance has the effect of storing and releasing energy in the form of a current. This in turn has the effect of smoothing out transients in the circuit as well as blocking high frequency signals.

Advantages and Disadvantages

S1812-101H has many advantages. Its small size and light weight make it well suited for applications where space and weight is at a premium. It is also designed with excellent thermal properties, making it well suited for high temperature operation. Additionally, it is well suited for high frequency operation due to its low resistance. One of the major disadvantages is its relatively high cost compared to other inductors.
