The S25FL128P0XMFI011 is a triple-cell (3-bit) non-volatile memory which differs from other types of memory in that it does not require power to retain its content. As such, it is commonly used in applications where a reliable non-volatile storage solution is required. The S25FL128P0XMFI011 utilizes an advanced double memory cell approach to maintain data integrity, allowing each memory cell to store multiple bits at once, thus improving storage capacity and speed.The S25FL128P0XMFI011 flash memory provides a wide range of advantages compared to other types of memory such as SRAM, DRAM, and EPROM. It is low-power, cost-effective and highly reliable. It features three operating voltage levels of 2.5V, 1.8V and 1.4V to reduce power consumption. It also offers a wide temperature range of –45°C to +125°C. Additionally, the S25FL128P0XMFI011 supports performance-grade commands such as Page Program, Sector Erase, Block Erase and Quad I/O.The S25FL128P0XMFI011 incorporates an innovative architecture which enables superior performance, speed and security. It uses two 8-bit read/write registers to access data, allowing incredibly fast data transfers. Additionally, the S25FL128P0XMFI011 provides an original error correction code (ECC) to detect any errors caused by transmission interference, as well as a range of advanced security features. Its security features include write protection, write enable/disable and sector unlock. The S25FL128P0XMFI011 integrates into a SoC, making it a cost-effective solution for end-system product development. It is suitable for a variety of applications including set-top boxes, imaging systems, personal media players and gaming platforms. The S25FL128P0XMFI011’s working principle is based on the fact that when a voltage is applied to a flash memory cell, the cell accumulates charges which cause electrons to migrate and act on a floating gate. This movement of electrons allows current to flow in one direction, creating a binary ‘1’ or ‘0’ depending on the voltage applied. The charge remains stored or retained in the flash memory cell until further operations are performed, such as a read or erase operation. In order to perform a read operation a decoder (decryption algorithm) is used. This decoder is used to read the binary state into readable data. To perform an erase operation the charge must be discharged from the floating gate and the cells must be overwritten with a ‘1’ or ‘0’ to achieve the desired result.The S25FL128P0XMFI011 flash memory is an ideal storage solution for products which require reliable non-volatile memory.
