Working Principle

The product series consists of a single-level cell (SLC) NAND Flash memory that is organized into pages, blocks and planes for reliable storage of data. It also includes a flash memory controller and a transmission interface, which are used to provide the functionality of c¬¬hip-level error checking and correction (ECC) encoding, as well as data transmission over the interface.

The Flash memory controller is responsible for controlling data inputs, as well as processing, verifying and decoding the output of the ECC encoding. It also processes commands such as read, write, and erase received through the transmission interface, and enables data input and output to the NAND Flash memory.

The ECC encoding logic found on the device provides byte-level error checking and correction. It performs two steps, first encoding and then decoding the data.
