DC DC Converters - S36SE05003NDFG application field and working principle The S36SE05003NDFG is a DC to DC converter compliant with IEC 60335-1 safety requirements, designed for general industrial applications. The S36SE05003NDFG has a wide input voltage range of 11V – 48V DC, and a wide output voltage range of 0.9V – 33.6V DC. It offers dual output versions with +/- 10% accuracy, as well as single output versions with up to +/- 4% accuracy. In addition, it has an adjustable current limit and over-temperature protection. The S36SE05003NDFG has an exceptionally wide operating temperature range of -40°C to + 110°C. This ensures maximum reliability for use in extreme conditions. It also provides excellent thermal design with low thermal derating, and a robust package design that supports up to 10G vibration and 50G shock. Working PrincipleThe S36SE05003NDFG is a high frequency, synchronous-rectifying buck converter. The concept is based on using a high frequency PWM (pulse-width modulation) signal to control the switching of the converter’s components. The S36SE05003NDFG consists of a synchronously-closed PWM switch driven switch (synchronous rectifier) and a power transistor as its major components. The PWM signal is generated using a pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller circuit, which adjusts the duty cycle of the PWM signal.
