Diodes - Rectifiers - Single, S3G-E3/57T, are global stud type rectifiers with a low forward voltage drop, these rectifiers are suitable for use with medium current freewheeling, as well as other general purpose applications over a wide range of operating temperature and voltage range.

The working principle of the S3G-E3/57T is relatively simple. When an AC current is applied to the rectifier, the anode lead acts as a conducting part and the cathode acts as a non-conducting one. During the positive half cycles of the applied AC current, the anode is more positive compared to the cathode and hence, current flows from the anode to the cathode. During the negative half-cycle of the applied AC current, the cathode becomes more positive compared to the anode and hence, current does not flow from the anode to the cathode. This absence of significant negative current flow is what gives the S3G-E3/57T its rectifying capability.
