S4908WBFNM is an omnidirectional magnetic field antenna for Radio Frequency (RF) applications. The antenna is a UHF band, low-profile, wideband, dipole array antenna that is designed to cover the frequency range of 450 MHz to 860 MHz. It has a gain of 8 dBi, 15-degree horizontal beamwidth and 180-degree vertical beamwidth. The S4908WBFNM is ideally suited for multiple RF uses, including cellular-telephone base stations, RFID tag reader applications and industrial automation applications. The antenna is designed using a dual-dipole magnetic field element array that is designed to evenly cover the desired frequency range with an omni-directional pattern. The antenna also features high linearity and high Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI).The antenna is constructed from a combination of a radiator and a reflector. The antenna radiator is a dual–dipole array that produces an omni-directional pattern. The reflector is a disc-shaped parabolic reflector that is designed to increase the antenna gain. The parabolic reflector also serves to reduce multipath reception, resulting in improved linearity and signal strength for a given coverage area.The working principle of the S4908WBFNM can be broken down into two parts: the transmission and reception of the signal. During transmission, the dual-dipole array sends out the signal in an omni-directional pattern. The gain of the antenna is increased by the parabolic reflector, which serves to amplify the signal before it reaches the recevier. During reception, the antenna works in reverse to receive the signal from the transmitter, where the parabolic reflector once again serves to increase the signal strength.The S4908WBFNM is an ideal choice for multiple RF applications due to its wide frequency bandwidth, high gain, and omni-directional pattern.
