S500-1-R Application Field and Working Principle

S500-1-R fuses are designed to protect electrical system components and circuits from overload or short circuit damage. The S500-1-R provides both short circuit protection and overcurrent protection in one device, while also providing protection against distortion currents. This results in an open-circuit, stopping the current flow and isolating the circuit from the fault. Once the fault is cleared, the absorbent material cools and modifies back into its original form, allowing the end caps to reconnect and close the circuit.
