A S5G-M3/9AT or Q5G-M3/9AT is a rectifier diode, mainly used to control the direction of current flow in a circuit. It is composed of an anode and a cathode, and the conducting direction of current between the anode and the cathode is only one way, which is called the unilateral diode.

The principle of the S5G-M3/9AT rectifier diode is based on the junction of two different semiconductor materials. If the anode is applied with a positive voltage, the current will flow from the anode to the cathode, but no current will flow from the cathode to the anode, because the diode will be reverse biased. When the anode voltage decreases below the cathode voltage, the diode will become reversed biased and no current flows in the circuit.

S5G-M3/9AT rectifier diodes can be used in various applications including solar energy conversion, power supply, power transmission, overvoltage protection and surge absorption. In solar energy conversion, the rectifier diode can convert AC energy into DC energy.
