1. Description

The u-blox concurrent SAM-M8Q-0-10 GNSS patch antenna module benefits from the excellent performance of the u-blox M8 multi-GNSS engine. The SAM-M8Q module provides high sensitivity and extremely short acquisition time in an ultra-compact form. -M8Q module can receive up to three GNSS systems at the same time, can identify multiple constellations at the same time, and provide excellent positioning accuracy in situations involving urban canyons or weak signals. In order to improve positioning better and faster, SAM-M8Q supports enhancements of QZSS, GAGAN and IMES as well as WAAS, EGNOS and MSAS. SAM-M8Q also supports message integrity protection, geofencing and spoofing detection and configurable interface settings, Can be easily adapted to customer applications. Due to the embedded GNSS patch antenna, low power consumption, small size of 15.5 x 15.5 x 6.3 mm, simple interface and complex interference suppression functions, the SAM-M8Q module can be simply and directly integrated into the customer’s design to ensure Maximize customer satisfaction. The 15 x 15 mm patch antenna provides the best compromise between the performance of a right-handed circular polarization (RHCP) antenna and a small antenna that can be integrated into any design. The omnidirectional radiation pattern increases the flexibility of equipment installation. Simple SMD design and easy interface minimize design and manufacturing costs. SAM-M8Q has an additional front-end LNA (used to optimize performance) and a front-end SAW filter (used to improve anti-interference ability). SAM‑M8Q targets industrial and consumer applications that require small, cost-effective and easy-to-use GNSS solutions. The SAM-M8Q module uses a GNSS chip that meets the AEC-Q100 standard and has been fully tested at the system level. The certification is completed according to the ISO 16750 standard. The u-bloxSAM-M8Q module can also benefit from u-blox AssistNow ancillary services. Online services provide GNSS broadcast parameters, such as ephemeris, almanac plus time or rough location to reduce the time for the first significant repair of the receiver and increase the sensitivity of acquisition. The validity period of AssistNow Offline data (up to 35 days) and AssistNow Autonomous data (up to 3 days) is extended, allowing faster collection after a longer shutdown time.
