Working Principle

A SBH51-LPPE-D03-SP-BK connector consists of two components — a receptacle and a housing. The receptacle is the female, or socket side, of the connector and has metal contacts welded to its surface. The housing is the male, or plug-in side, of the connector and houses and aligns the pins found in the receptacle. When the two components are mated, the spring-loaded metal contacts of the receptacle come in contact with the pins of the housing; thereby, creating an electrical connection.

The contacts are encrypted and employ a special construction to ensure stable mating and reliable contact and/or crimping. For easier mating during installation, SBH51-LPPE-D03-SP-BK connectors may also be supplied with an insulating cover. Male pins embossed with gold plating are standard, while female contacts are available in both gold plating and tin plating.
