SC-ISOSLICE-1 technology is based on the principle of a low power, non-mechanical, laser induced dielectric breakdown. This process relies on a low-power laser focused on a material that is placed between two electrodes. The molten material is expelled out of the tool and a shearing force is generated which cuts the material.
