The SC1608C-220 Fixed Inductors is an ultra-small inductors with miniature dimensions, wide inductance range and high rated current. It is typically used as an inductor for DC/DC converters, and also as a signal filter for RF circuits, especially suitable for digital and analog circuit designs.

The product is made of high-performance iron-based materials and processed by automated vacuum winding, making the product size tiny, with low DC resistance and high self-resonance frequency. The loss is low under high frequency, and its performance is excellent. In addition, it has a wide inductance range of 0.1uH to 220uH, and its rated current is up to 7.6A.

In terms of size, the external dimension of the SC1608C-220 is 1.6 * 1.4 * 0.8mm, so it supports ultra-low profile requirements, and because of its special structure, the volume of the product is 40% smaller than that of other inductors of the same performance.

In terms of working principle, the SC1608C-220 is based on the principles of faraday’s laws of electromagnetic induction and Lenz’s law. Lenz’s law states that the current in a circuit generates a magnetic field which opposes the change that created it. Faraday’s law states that a voltage is induced in a conductor when the magnetic flux linked to that conductor changes.

When an alternating current passes through an inductor, the flux linked with a coil changes. According to Lenz’s Law, this induces an electromotive force along the coil which opposes the applied current. Thus, the current and voltage waveforms of the coil are of opposite polarity, as shown in the figure below.

Therefore, the SC1608C-220 fixed inductor can effectively reduce and filter the harmonic components in the circuit. It can also reduce the dynamic resistance of the circuit and make the circuit current ripple small, improving the overall performance of the circuit.
