SC174MLTRT DC/DC buck converter can be widely used in smart phones, tablets, notebook computers and other mobile communication devices. It delivers up to 3.3A maximum output current and supports a wide input voltage range from three-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer batteries (3.0V to 4.5V). With its ultra-small size, it’s perfect for space-constrained applications and features 90% efficiency under a 0.2mA load. It is also suitable for automotive and industrial applications.

Working Principle

SC174MLTRT DC/DC buck converter is based on the principle of Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) control with high efficiency patent pending technology. It works by regulating an input voltage source to the required output voltage and modulation of an output buck voltage. This is achieved by controlling the amount of power fed from the input source to the output terminals, based on how close the output voltage is from the desired set point, thereby keeping the output at a steady state.

To control how much power is fed from the input voltage source, SC174MLTRT DC/DC buck converter employs proprietary control circuitry, called “closed loop”.
