The SCAN928028TUF/NOPB is a high-speed serializer/deserializer (SERDES) device that is used to convert multiple serial data signals into digital data streams. It is mainly used in applications requiring high speed rates such as digital signal processing, telecom, medical, military and aerospace, automotive and other industries.

The SCAN928028TUF/NOPB device is designed for applications with high throughput, and delivers eight channels of 8-bit low-power, full-duplex, SERDES I/O plus clocking. It also offers rate adaptive adaptive channel data rate adaptation, which is a key feature in applications with changing data rates. The integrated SERDES I/O can operate up to approximately 66 Gbps, and will allow transmission of 4K resolution video signals in between two chips or boards.

Working Principle

The SCAN928028TUF/NOPB SERDES serializes data from multiple 8-bit channels in parallel, and then transmits it as a single serial stream. The serial data stream is then deserialized back into the original 8-bit data stream. This process is performed in a bidirectional manner, meaning the SERDES can both send and receive data.

The SCAN928028TUF/NOPB utilizes a two-channel configuration in order to transmit and receive the data. Each of the two SERDES channels includes its own independent transmitter and receiver, clock and data recovery block, as well as two machined-on-chip clocks. Each of the two channels includes its own independent control logic, allowing two-way communication between each of the two channels.

The SCAN928028TUF/NOPB also features rate-adaptive and interface-rate matching capabilities. The rate-adaptive feature allows the the device to automatically adapt to different data rates, and the interface-rate matching allows the device to synchronize the data transmission rate of the transmitter and the receiver.
