Also known as “super capacitors” EDLCs are electrochemical capacitors and offer a combination of high energy storage with extremely short discharge times. This makes them ideal for a wide range of applications including unmanaged power sources, energy storage for solar and wind power systems, and general energy storage and management applications.Components of the SCMR22F155MRBA0 include a two-electrode construction with an electrolytic separator and a high-energy conducting medium. The outer layer of each electrode is made up of a highly porous material in order to provide large amounts of surface area, allowing the device to store more energy. The electrolyte, meanwhile, provides a steady, low impedance path between the two electrodes. Together, these enable fast charge and discharge speeds, making the device a good choice for back-up energy sources and high-current applications.The inner layer of the EDLC and supercapacitor is comprised of a flexible material, such as a polymeric film, in order to provide high capacitance and low source impedance.
