Applications

Working Principle
The working principle of the SD1405 is that it is a bipolar junction transistor (BJT). A BJT is a type of transistor composed of three layers that have different electrical properties. When the BJT is forward biased (Negative Collector to Positive Base) current can flow from the emitter to the collector and it is known as an n-channel device (or an NPN transistor). This flow of current is known as "forward current" and it is controlled by the amount of voltage applied to the base.
In the SD1405, the relative distance between the emitter and the collector-base junction is greatly reduced, resulting in a very low junction capacitance. This reduced capacitance improves the transistor’s performance in high frequency applications. In addition, the high impendence of the collector-base junction allows the SD1405 to manifest large voltage swings, which makes it very suitable for use in switching and amplification circuits.
