This one way path, when powered by AC current, creates a voltage wave for the output of the bridge. This wave is usually a full wave rectified wave where both the positive and negative parts of the AC wave are rectified, resulting in a high direct current (DC) output. In addition to this full wave rectification, the bridge also filters out higher frequency components from the output wave, resulting in a DC wave with significantly less distortion than the original AC wave.
