The SF4-AH8 Slot Type Photointerrupter from Advanced Photonix, Inc. is a commonly used mechanical revolution counter switch, which offers high-sensitivity, and an extended range for applications with extreme parasitic light such as those found in the automotive industry. It is integrated with a logic output and tri-state driver chip, which operates as both a non-latching and latching incremental encoder. When the output signal is in the high state, the output switches to low.
