Optoisolators are devices which provide the isolation of two electronic circuits, with one side transmitting information without any electrical connection or power transfer to the other. SFH6325-X009 is a type of optoisolator, a transistor with photovoltaic output. It is a 6-pin optocoupler where the inputs are optically isolated from the outputs.

Any activity between the two connected circuits is completely isolated, aided by the tight illumination angle of the LED and the wide acceptance angle of the phototransistor.
The working principle of the SFH6325-X009 is founded on the properties of a phototransistor. When the LED is illuminated, the electrical current from it passes through the phototransistor, providing a signal on the other end. By manipulating the current passing through the LED, different signals are possible.
The SFH6325-X009 has a short switching time between 2 and 10μs, depending on the applied current. It has a high radiance output power and a broad voltage range, from 2Hz to 100MHz, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
