Film capacitors, also known as plastic film capacitors and film dielectric capacitors, are devices used to store electric energy, like other types of capacitors, due to their capacity to maintain an electric charge. However, unlike other types of capacitors, film capacitors make use of a film dielectric material instead of a paper insulated foil element.
