The working principle of the SI-60136-F is based on a multi-ferrite design that incorporates magnetics within the package and a conductive shield that wraps around the outside of the plug/jack assembly. The magnetics are designed to redirect any voltage and/or currents that would normally travel along the length of the connector. This is due to the ferrite core providing a higher impedance path for the current than the external shield. This prevents any dc current from passing through the contact springs, while allowing AC and RF signals to pass unimpeded.
