The SI2418-B-FTR is an Electronic Industry Alliance (EIA) approved 10 Mbps RS-485 transceiver. It can handle opto-isolated data rates spanning from 600 bps to 10 Mbps while providing isolation of up to 2kV. This device is designed to provide a fast and easy-to-use method to connect two segments of an RS-485 bus system. Among some of the key features of this product are a wide common mode operating range (1.2V to 5.5V), high ESD protection (±4 kV – HBM), and high noise rejection.

The SI2418-B-FTR has both line driver and receiver outputs, which are combined into a single chip. This eliminates the need for external transceivers or multiplexers.
