Working Principle

The SI2493-D-FTR modem integrates Digital Signal Processor (DSP) blocks such as an Analog Front End (AFE), UART, and Clock/Timing Generator to create a highly configurable modem. The AFE digitizes the analog voice signal and is responsible for line equalization and echo cancellation. The UART is used for serial communication and for supporting the ITU-T V.32, V.34 and other related modulation formats. It also supports digital information transfer over phone lines such as Group 3 Fax. The Clock/Timing Generator implements a wide range of timings needed for data transfers. The SI2493-D-FTR modem also provides a variety of algorithms and functions that can be used to maximize throughput and address potential line impediments.
